Rhinoplasty Step-by-Step

Dr. Lowe typically performs rhinoplasty at our private surgical center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The outpatient surgery can be completed in one to three hours and involves several steps:
"Dr. Lowe will be able to perform your nose job at our accredited, fully equipped, in-office surgical suite."
"Dr. Lowe will be able to perform your nose job at our accredited, fully equipped, in-office surgical suite."

Before the procedure, you will have the choice of combining local anesthesia with intravenous (IV) sedation or being rendered completely unconscious with general anesthesia.

Depending on what part of your nose you want modified, Dr. Lowe will either make incisions inside your nostrils (closed rhinoplasty) or make a single incision in the tissue that separates your nostrils (open rhinoplasty). Open rhinoplasty allows for more substantial transformations. On the other hand, closed rhinoplasty can minimize scarring.

After making the incisions, our plastic surgeon will have access to the bone and cartilage of your nose. He will reshape your nose by precisely removing bone and cartilage or, in rarer circumstances, adding cartilage grafts to your nose.

Once Dr. Lowe has reshaped your nose, he will conclude the surgery by closing your incisions. He will protect your nose by applying a splint, bandages, and gauze. If you chose to receive general anesthesia, you will be woken up, and you will be provided with detailed aftercare instructions before a loved one drives you home.
The results of rhinoplasty become evident over time—it may take up to a year for you to enjoy the final outcome of your nasal refinement. Until then, we'll check in with you to assess your healing and progress during routine post-op visits.

Get Started With Patient Forms

All the information you need is right at your fingertips. From giving you an idea of what surgery is like, to keeping you educated on recovery, these forms and documents are easy to access. You can also save time by filling out our patient forms before your consultation.

Not Sure About Surgery? Consider Liquid Rhinoplasty

Woman having a plastic surgeon look at her face

Not all patients who want to refine their nose feel comfortable with plastic surgery. We understand completely—and we're proud to feature an alternative: liquid rhinoplasty.

Instead of surgical techniques, liquid rhinoplasty uses strategically applied fillers. They easily augment minor concerns impacting the shape of your nose.

Liquid rhinoplasty is faster to perform, has an easier recovery, and is far less invasive than surgical rhinoplasty. It's also more affordable. Additionally, by choosing a trusted rhinoplasty surgeon for your treatment, you'll benefit from an artistic eye and relevant experience.
